Friday, May 28-Thursday June 3

Last day for half credit on old Excel work.

3

Get caught up on the previous few day’s work.

4

Today you will be using Power Point  to create a promotional video presentation.  Your presentation requires some set up before you get started.

  • Set up a folder and name it "last name_promtion"
  • Open up a PowerPoint Presentation document and name it "last name_presentation" then save it to the above folder
  • Open up the folder called "Music" in the shared drive.  Choose one of the songs for your presentation and save it to the above folder.

If you wish to use a song of your own...

  • Click on the following link and convert your musical selection to a MP3 file.   http://www.mediaconverter.org/
    • Click on "Upload file" and select the music file you saved in the previous step
    • Click "ok"
    • Click "Go to next step"
    • Select output file type as "mp3"
    • Once the file is converted save to the folder you made earlier
  • Now you can begin assembling your presentation

Promotional video requirements

  • Your video must promote your inaugural game/opening day game
  • Your video must include a variety of photos
  • Your video must be 30-45 seconds long
  • Your video must include a musical selection that plays during the entire video
  • Your video must use only ONE style of transition from slide to slide
  • Three of your slides must have a "panning" motion effect
  • Your video must incorporate your logo
  • Your video must include some sort of slogan/catch phrase

that relates to the pictures or song

Things to keep in mind:  Slides need to be timed.   Fast slide changes create a fast up beat feeling, slower changes create drama.  However, if your timing is off, your video will seem rushed or it will drag.  Preview your timings.  You can change each slide timing individually.

Extra Credit:  You can include extra items like edited music, video, voice over.  YOU would need to create these items at home and bring them in on a flash drive.

When you are finished save the song and the finished presentation in the folder you created.

5

10 minutes of keyboarding, take a timing to add to your spreadsheet, continue PowerPoint.

Don’t be a knucklehead.

Look ahead to Monday’s work if you are caught up.

8

Today we will begin creating the second part of your Power Point Presentation.  We will present these to the class as if you are making a presentation to the City Council of the city where your team is located.  Click here for the Scoring Guide for this presentation.

Step 1:  Open up your previous PPT presentation and add 8 NEW slides to the BEGINNING of your presentation.

Step 2:  PPT 2007 Choose a "Slide Design"  that compliments your team mascot/colors or create one of your own.  On 2007, you can hide the background on the slides (your promotional video) you do not want it to appear.

PPT 2003 you need to click on "Format" and then click on "Background".  You must then create a background for each slide in this portion of your presentation.

Step 3:  Choose a simple transition for each slide (You must use the same transition when moving from slide to slide in this portion of your presentation.

Step 4:  Add the following content and graphics to your slides

  • Slide 1:  Name of your team, Logo, Your name and title, picture of you is optional
  • Slide 2:  Info on your team—kind of team, league you are in etc.
  • Slide 3:   Charity events—highlight the events you will do for local charities—recognizing how important it is to the community
  • Slide 4:  Team Roster
  • Slide 5:  Team Schedule- highlight special event days
  • Slide 6:  Highlight famous player—give statistics on the player, picture, etc.
  • Slide 7:  Highlight famous player—same as slide 6
  • Slide 8:  Leave Blank so that you can introduce the promotional video part of your presentation

Step 5:  Format the text and graphics on each slide.  Animate appropriately.  For example you may each event on  Slide #3 to come in to the presentation individually.

Step 6:  Use spell check

Finally, together we will go over the final formatting and timing of your presentation.   You will want to rehearse your presentation with your PPT before giving it.  Partner up with someone in the class and present to them.  Give each other feedback about your presentation skills, as well as the overall appearance of your PPT.
