Today you
need to finish up your letterhead and your letter. Please submit both
to the Inbox by the end of the period.
Remember, you need to include a
bulleted list in your letter. If you wish, and have time, you may
create custom bullets by following the steps below.
Add picture bullets or symbols to a list (Word 2007)
The Bullet Library includes symbol and
picture bullet styles. If you don't see the style that you want in the
library, you can define a new bullet style.
- Select the
items to which you want to add picture bullets or symbols.
To change an
entire list level in a multilevel list, click one bullet or number at that
level in the list.
- On the Home
tab, in the Paragraph group, click the arrow next to Bullets.

3. Click Define
New Bullet, and then click Symbol or Picture.
- Click any
symbol or picture that you want to use, and then click OK
twice.
After you create a bulleted
item, each time you press ENTER, another bulleted item is automatically
added until you press ENTER twice.
After you finish, go ahead
and start on the next assignment, the press release.

Today we will begin keyboard
skill practice.
First, open up a blank Excel work book.
Name it Period_LastName_Keyboard
Create colums with the following labels:
"Date" "Test #" "WPM" and
"Errors"
Next,
1. Login to the following website and to take
your first test. http://www.freetypinggame.net/
2. Click on the tab labeled
"Tests" and select "Test #1" for a length of
"5 minutes"
3. Record your results on your Excel
document
4. Click on the tab called
"Lessons" and work on Lesson #1-Lesson #4. You may continue
to work on the next lset of lessons in succession OR...
5. Click on the tab called
"Games". These games are intended to help you learn the
different key placements on the keyboard. Some are more challenging
than others. You will find that the more lessons you complete the
easier the games become. You may also customize the game to fit the
skills you need the most practice on. In addition, this is a good way
to practice your keyboarding skills before the next Test.
This will establish your baseline score and
you will be able to track your improvement over the next few weeks.
Each Friday, you will take a new test and record your result in your Excel
workbook.
Each day for the first 10 minutes of class we
will practice keyboarding using the different games. If you are
finished early with an assignment you may get extra practice by playing the
various games.
Remember,
the more you practice the faster and more accurate you will become.
After
you finish, take the
netiquette
test, get a perfect score, print it out and turn it into the basket on my
desk.
