Grading

Your grade will be broken down into three parts:  daily work, tests/quizzes, and Participation/Work Ethic.

1.       Daily Work—(70%  of grade)—This consists of daily assignments.

2.       Test/Projects—(20% of grade)—Tests will usually be given at the end of each unit.  Timed writings will be included in the grade.  Final project will be a culminating projects that will cover all areas introduced.

3.       Participation/Work Ethic—(10% of grade)— I will take half of these points each time I send you out or feel I have to call your house due to discipline issues.

Tardy Procedure

First and Second Offense:          Rule reminder; participation points deducted

Third Offense:                           30 minute detention/parent notified; participation points deducted

   Fourth Offense:                         One hour detention/Parent notified; loss of all participation points;

Fifth Offense:                            Two hour detention; administrative referral; parent notified

Sixth Offense:                           Administrative referral with recommendation for loss of credit

A NOTE FROM YOUR PREVIOUS TEACHER WILL EXCUSE A TARDY.

Rest Room Use

You get 3 free trips per quarter, which I will keep track of.  If you use more than these, you will have a 30 minute detention.

Grading Scale

92-100                A                                   78-79                   C+                              59 and below        F

90-91                 A-                                  72-77                   C

88-89                 B+                                 70-71                   C-

82-87                 B                                   68-69                   D+

80-81                 B-                                  60-67                   D

Work Ethic Points

Work Ethic Points are 10 percent of your grade.  I plan to give 180 points to everyone, and subtract points for the following:

10 points for having an electronic device in view, or food in the classroom.

10 points for being disruptive after being warned.

40 points for going to time-out.

60 points for a referral.

Late Work

Turn in all work within two weeks of the work being assigned.  I like to be lenient because people work at different speeds, but if you can’t have the work in within two weeks, I can’t accept the work.  Ask me for a print out on Friday if you are concerned about what assignments are missing, I plan to update grades every Thursday night and give printouts on Friday (after the first 6 weeks).
